roomsでは洋服やアクセサリー以外にも、プロダクトを紹介するエリアがあります。
今日はそのエリアに出展をしていた"ShibFab"（シブファブ）をご紹介します。
"シブファブ"とは？
渋谷エリアに集積するデジタルファブリケーションの拠点とメイカーズによる資源共有および活性化を図り、"渋谷発のものづくりムーブメント"を広く世界に向けて発信していく共同体。
"消費の街"としての渋谷という街ですが、DIYの聖地といわれる東急ハンズ渋谷店を中心に、様々なクリエイターの工房があり、実は"製造の街"でもあるのです。
宇田川町にシブファブの工房もあり、クリエイターを束ねて、個人単位などでも製造可能なプロダクトを開発しているのです。
インターネットやデジタル工作技術といったIT技術を使った現代のものづくりです。

ある意味そのミシン針の動きは壊れているそうですが、意図的であり意図的でない、不思議な状態から生み出される 本来デザインしたものとは別のアーティスティックな絵柄が完成します。

このシブファブというプロジェクトが、大企業でなくても個人のクリエイターがものづくりを発信できる土壌を作り、そこから生まれたプロダクトを販売し・ビジネスとして発展していくことになるだろうと思います。
今度工房にお伺いさせていただく約束をしましたのでまたご紹介できればと思います。
